Today was the first day of school. It was a long haul over the summer as the vacation began in early June. In all honesty, mom and dad are much more happy that the girls are back in school than the girls themselves. After 12 weeks, we’re glad that the teachers are helping keeping the girls off Instagram, Snapchat, Fortnite, and Smash Bros by providing home work and assignments.
For Alexandra it is a special year because she is starting high school: Class of 2024 !
Today was a Saturday like many others. In the morning Roos had a hair appointment. After having gone bleached with an undercut, she felt it was time to start growing it out. She got a light cover over the blonde and a minimal trim so she can start growing it.
In the afternoon, while Roos was drawing her art, Lexie and her friend Alex and I went to see a movie. The movie was called ” Eight Grade”. It is not a big audience movie, and rated R. The theater was not very full but it was a funny and we had a good time.
Tomorrow Mascha will drive with the girls up to San Francisco to get their passports renewed. The consulate in Los Angeles closed and now the nearest is San Francisco.. Road Trip ! It’s also the last week of summer break. Next week school starts again.
It was a wonderful birthday today with a great dinner at the Marche Moderne in Newport Beach.
Roos sadly couldn’t be there as she is still in Mexico. She’ll be back tomorrow though and I think we’ll celebrate my birthday again.
